SAN DIEGO – The University of Denver men’s tennis team battled, but couldn’t get it done on Saturday against No. 48 San Diego.
The Toreros won the match 6-1 and improved to 7-7 on the season. DU fell to 7-6 on the year.
The Pioneers lone point came from Jorge Nunez at six singles. The freshman defeated USD’s Pratt Keerasuntonpon, 6-2, 6-2.
The Crimson and Gold took San Diego to three sets in two singles matches, as Mattia Ros lost to No. 77 August Holmgren, 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(7-5).
At the four singles spot, Eric Morris dropped his match against David Norfeldt, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The Pioneers returns to action in the Mile High City on Friday, as they host Wichita State.
