Twenty-three men shot perfect 900s in the compound championship open division to set a new record for the shootdown at the largest Vegas Shoot in history, while the women’s championship had multiple archers clean for the first time ever.

The previous highest number of 900s under current Vegas rules was 19 in 2012. With the lucky dog, Pierre-Julien Deloche, the 2019 championship shootdown line will feature 24.

Heading into the final day of competition, there were four compound women who had not dropped a point. So Chaewon and Sara Lopez were the two that remained clean after the last 30 arrows.

Only three women in the Vegas shoot’s history had shot perfect 900s before; Mary Hamm did it in 2004, Sarah Lance was the second in 2014 and the most recent was Tanja Jensen in 2017.

Chaewon and Sara bring that number to five and set the stage for this tournament’s first perfect-900-point shootdown in the compound women’s championship.

Keith Trail added a perfect score in the compound senior championship, and Trevor Silverson and Connor Sears shot 900s in the compound young adult championship.
